LaSha Johnson highlighted Rutgers-Newark's efforts in the Thomson Invitational in the University of Delaware Field House.

Johnson competed in the 60, 200 and 400-meter dashes and posted the top two finishes against the field for the Scarlet Raiders. She was 12th in a field of 35 runners in the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.60 seconds to edge classmate
Josephine Polynice (16th in 8.65). Johnson was 24th in a field of 54 sprinters in the 200, clocking a 28.54.
Freshman
Nicole Miklas failed to break her own record in the 3000-meter run – which she had done for three consecutive meets – by clocking an 11:43.64 to finish 10th in a field of 20.
Rounding out the Rutgers-Newark slate were freshman
Laura Robles (2:56.34) and
Megan Krause (2:56.94) in the 800-meter run, rookie
Jane Cho (6:34.21) in the mile run and freshman
Kaitlyn Pomponio in the shot put.
Next weekend, Rutgers-Newark will compete in both the New Balance Invitational at the NYC Amory and the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College.
