MAHWAH, NJ – Rutgers-Newark fell to Ramapo, 9-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference play to start a back-to-back league weekend.

Junior top-flight player Michelle Kvitnitsky figured in the best battles, falling to senior Hayley Downing, 6-3, 6-1 in singles after teaming with sophomore Yara Elsekhely for an 8-6 loss to Downing and freshman Ivy Schukman.

Ramapo improved to 3-0 overall and in the conference.

The Scarlet Raiders (2-3, NJAC 0-3) travel to Richard Stockton on Saturday for a noon NJAC match.
