MADISON, NJ – Rutgers-Newark closed out its dual match season with an 8-1 win over FDU-Florham with three players notching winning singles records for the campaign.

Michelle Kvitnitsky and
Michelle Nagamine and junior
Yara Elsekhely had better than .500 records as the Scarlet Raiders went 4-7 while junior
Maggie Tchorzewska finished with a 5-5 mark.
Kvitnitsky powered past junior Kim Martin, 6-1, 6-0, on the No. 2 singles court to run her record to a team-best 7-4. Elsekhely stopped sophomore Tenzin Lama, 6-2, 6-4, on the second flight while Nagamine dispatched senior Jennifer Epstein, 6-2, 6-0, on the No. 3 court. The Raider players upped their singles records to 6-5 for the year.
Tchorzewska raced past freshman Kristen Ordonez, 6-1, 6-1, on the No. 5 singles court.
Kvitnitsky and Elsekhely defeated freshman Remy Astorino and Martin, 8-3, on the top-flight doubles court while senior
Dhaneya Kumar and Nagamine handed Lama and Ordonez an 8-2 loss on the second flight. Nagamine and Kumar rang up a 6-5 doubles partnership for the season.
The Raiders got walkover victories on the sixth singles court and third doubles court.
Rutgers-Newark will participate in the NJAIAW Championship at Drew University on Saturday and Sunday to wrap up its 2013 season.
