Chris Foreman's jumper sent the game into an extra period, but William Paterson scored the first nine points in overtime for a 75-68 New Jersey Athletic Conference win in The Golden Dome Arena.

Jordan McDaniel netted nine of his team-high 16 points in the second half to help Rutgers-Newark (10-4, NJAC 4-3) get back into the fray, but it took a good bounce and a quick reaction by Foreman to give the Raiders a chance at the win.
Foreman collected the rebound of a missed 3-point jumper from the right elbow by sophomore guard
Darrian Collins on the left baseline and swished a 15 foot jumper with just 4.9 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 65-65. When a hurried 3-point jumper by Pioneer junior guard Manny Hernandez missed its mark at the buzzer, the hosts still had life.
But WPU junior forward James McLane drained a 3-point jumper for the first points of overtime before junior forward Terik Bridgeman threw down a dunk off of a driving, behind-the-back feed from sophomore Zach Frick to push the Pioneer lead to 70-65 with 1:30 left. A jumper by Bridgeman, who had game highs of 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots, gave WPU a 7-point bulge before a pair of free throws by junior guard Bright Mensah made it 74-65 with just 18 ticks remaining.
Down by 15 points in the first half, the Scarlet Raiders clawed their way back to tie the score at 45-45 with 12:58 left in regulation on a dunk and ensuing free throw Jordan and took their first lead of the game on a free throw by Foreman just 30 seconds later.
Jordan added six rebounds to his line while senior swingman
Christian Garcia added 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. He moved to fourth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,296 points – passing Jeron Rayam (1,285 points – 1997-2001).
Foreman, who notched the Raiders' only overtime points with his third 3-point jumper of the game, finished with a dozen points and three rebounds. Junior forward
David Azoroh added nine points and six rebounds while senior guard
Doze Ikwuegbu posted a team-high three assists, five rebounds and three points. Senior forward
Allen Kuiper netted six points and collected three rebounds.
McLane hit three of five shots from beyond the arc to post 11 points for the Pioneers while Mensah tallied 15 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Turrell McClendon contributed nine points and five rebounds off the bench.
WPU (11-2, NJAC 6-1) stayed in a second-place tie with Rowan (10-3, NJAC 6-1) in league standings – a half a game behind Stockton (12-1, NJAC 6-0) which hosts Ramapo (9-4, NJAC 3-3) on Monday.
The Raiders stayed in fourth place – a half a game ahead of Ramapo.
