Box Score NEWARK, N.J. - Rutgers University-Newark had five players in double figures in a 98-71 New Jersey Athletic Conference win over Montclair State in The Golden Dome Arena.
Junior forward
Jordan McDaniel posted his third double-double of the season with team highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Scarlet Raiders (14-5, NJAC 8-4) completed a regular-season sweep of the Red Hawks (5-12, NJC 2-10).
Despite falling behind 11-6 during the first five and a half minutes of play, Rutgers-Newark scored 18 more points than the 80 it rang up on Nov. 16 in a win over Pitt-Bradford. It marked the first time this season that the Raiders have had five players reach double digits in a game.
Rutgers-Newark maintained sole possession of third place in the NJAC while MSU tumbled into the cellar of the 10-team league.
Junior guard
Vik Singh came off the bench to pour in three of six shots from beyond the arc on his way to 15 points for the Raiders. Senior swingman
Christian Garcia made five of eight shots from the floor to finish with 14 points, five rebounds and a game-high five assists.
Junior forward
David Azoroh totaled 13 points and hauled down eight rebounds while senior guard

Freshman guard Lavrone Green led all scorers with 23 points for the Red Hawks while sophomore guard Erick Loften-Harris made 15 of 20 free throws on his way to 19 points. Sophomore guard Shaun Russell chipped in 15 points and three blocked shots for MSU.
After the slow start, Raider head coach
Joe Loughran went to his bench for a spark. He got it from Foreman, who netted 10 first-half points, and senior center
Elvis Hodzic, who worked for a pair of inside buckets to get Rutgers-Newark rolling. McDaniel drained three of three shots from long range and Foreman connected on both of his 3-point jumpers during the opening period as the Raiders blistered the net. The team made six of eight 3-points jumpers to lift the team's field goal percentage to 60.7% (17-28) for the period to lead 48-29 at the break.
A McDaniel jumper upped the Raider lead to 53-29 during the opening minutes of the second half and the Red Hawks would get no closer than 17 points the rest of the way.
