NEWARK, N.J. (February 11, 2019) - On Saturday night, the Rutgers University-Newark baseball team hosted its annual 'Beefsteak Dinner' fundraiser in the 15 Washington Street function hall between the historic Newark Museum and Newark Public Library. 

Over 300 people came out to the event to support the Scarlet Raiders baseball program, meet new head coach Kevin Kelley, and enjoy a catered dinner as the baseball team prepares for its 2019 season.

The event featured tricky tray prizes and a 50/50 raffle to help the squad raise money for their spring trips to North Carolina and Florida.

"Saturday night was a tremendous success." said Kelley, "It was great to see so many supporters of the program sharing a meal and enjoying each other's company as we gear up for a season opener on Friday."
