Men's Track & Field Opens At The Osprey Open

RESULTS

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark men's outdoor track & field squad took part in the Osprey Open this afternoon as their first meet of the season. 

Cedric Augustin paved the way for the Scarlet Raiders in the 100m dash, finishing with a time of 12.15 to grab 11th while Jaheim Wimberly-Cole crossed in 12.62. Naser Tizhoosh clocked a time of 13.09 and Isaac Martinez crossed the finish line with a time of 13.27. 

Kevin Aguilar just missed a top-10 finish in the 200m dash when he crossed with a time of 24.24. Not far behind him were his teammates, Rendell Amilcar (24.42), Rendys Amilcar (24.56), Jaheim Wimberly-Cole (25.02), Naser Tizhoosh (25.60), and Isaac Martinez (25.93). 

Just a pair of Scarlet Raiders competed in the 400m dash, Rendell Amilcar and Aguilar. Rendell Amilcar cracked the top-10 with a 7th-place finish with a time of 53.44 while Aguilar clocked in at 54.22. 

Maninder Singh took 20th in the 3000m run with a time of 9:44.66.

Augustin gave the Scarlet Raiders their best finish of the day with a 1st-place nod in the long jump with a distance of 6.52m. In that same event, Rendys Amilcar took 4th with a leap of 6.00m. 

Rendys Amilcar took 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 13.56m while Augustin was close behind in 4th with a jump of 12.65. 

Hunter Eldrige tossed his way to a 7th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.51m. Timaul Williams finished in 5th in the discus with a toss of 40.43m while Eldrige hurled his discus 28.31m. 

Williams also competed in the hammer throw and took 4th with a distance of 43.14m.

In the Javelin, Sean Deuer tossed 39.39m, good for 12th, and Dylan Woods-Tomczak recorded a distance of 39.26m.
