Rutgers-Newark Men's Indoor Track & Field Race in the Fasttrack Season Opener

STATEN ISLAND, NY | The Rutgers University-Newark men's indoor track & field squad opened their indoor season today at Ocean Breeze for the Fast Track Season Opener. 

Jaheim Wimberly-Cole gave the Scarlet Raiders an 8th-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.56. Diego Gomes then placed 37th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.31, good for 37th. Joining Gomes in the 200m dash was Anthony Nwosu who placed 57th with a time of 26.08. 

Cedric Augustin placed 15th in the 400m dash with a time of 54.26, good for 15th. Joshua Akinsolu ran his way to a 22nd place finish with a time of 1:13.87 in the same event. In the longer distances, Emmanuel Boone took 14th in the 800m run with a time of 2:07.68. Justin Lee wasn't far behind, recording a time of 2:12.67. In the mile run, Vincenzo Marinaro placed 8th with a time of 4:34.64. Zachariah Muyingo took 12th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.30. 

In the long jump, Jordan Hartley placed 17th with a jump of 6.05m while Rendys Amilcar placed 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 13.96m. In the shot put, Hunter Eldridge took 17th with a toss of 11.30m. In the weight throw, Dylan Woods-Tomczak placed 10th with a hurl of 12.42m. Sean Deuer wasn't far behind with a toss of 11.68m. Marcus Hinds rounded out the weight throw for the Scarlet Raiders with a toss of 10.17m.
