NEW YORK, N.Y. — Rutgers–Newark's Scarlet Raiders competed at the NYU Division III Invitational at The Armory on Saturday, facing a strong field of Division III athletes.
MEN'S
Freshman Jaidyn Johnson had a standout day for the Scarlet Raiders, finishing third in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.95 meters and placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.06, showcasing his versatility on the track. Babacar Halsey added a seventh-place finish in the triple jump, clearing 12.76 meters.
WOMEN'S
Chidimma Igwe placed 20th in the women's 200 meters, running a time of 27.09. In the field, Fejiro Akiri recorded a throw of 11.04 meters in the shot put, earning 13th place, and added a top-10 finish in the weight throw, placing eighth with a mark of 13.77 meters.
The Scarlet Raiders will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. next week for the NJAC Championships
