Moore Sets the School Record in the 300m at the Seahawk Shootout

STATEN ISLAND, NY | Zrreyah Moore set the Rutgers University-Newark in the 300m dash as the women's indoor track & field team participated in the Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze.

Moore recorded a time of 41.96 in the 300m dash, which set the new school record for the Scarlet Raiders. Following Moore up in the same event was Chidimma Igwe who recorded the second fastest time in school history with a time of 42.80. Yumna Elsherif recorded a time of 1:09.61 in the 300m. Moore nearly broke another record in the 60m dash but finished .02 seconds behind her own time.

Zahkyrah Carter took 17th in the 600m with a time of 1:50.18 and Brooke Bachia crossed the finish line in 2:04.00. Pearl Oparebea grabbed 29th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.25 and was followed up by Carmelle Alexis with a time of 10.34. Brya Byrd also competed in the 60m hurdles and finished in 35th with a time of 11.45.

In the shot put, Shanil Auguste paved the way for the Scarlet Raiders, placing 12th with a distance of 10.94m. Faith Remias recorded a distance of 9.34m. Auguste improved her standing in the weight throw, taking 5th with a toss of 15.15m, which qualified her for the All Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships.
