Men's Track & Field Runs at the Spartan Invite

STATEN ISLAND, NY | The Rutgers University-Newark men's track & field squad took part in the Spartan Invitational this afternoon at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. 

Rendys Amilcar got the Scarlet Raiders started with a 34th-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.32. Jaheim Wimberly-Cole took 50th with a time of 7.55 while Cedric Augustin and Jordan Hartley recorded times of 7.58 and 7.67, respectively. 

Emmanuel Boone took 15th in the 500m run with a time of 1:10.94 while Joshua Akinsolu finished 16th after recording a time of 1:11.04. Nicholas Branco raced to a 26th place finish, crossing the finish line in 1:21.04. Vincenzo Marinaro finished 41st in the mile run with a time of 5:15.85 while Zachariah Muyingo and Anthony Nwosu recorded times of 5:40.95 and 5:5782, respectively. 

In the 3000m run Adam Abushanab took 16th with a time of 9:10.38. Hartley performed well in the high jump, taking 3rd with a height of 1.93m while Amilcar took 3rd in the triple jump. In the shot put, Samuel Rosas took 12th with a toss of 11.45m while Hunter Eldrige took 17th with a distance of 11.08m. Dylan Woods-Tomczak paced the Scarlet Raiders in the weight throw, recording a distance of 12.65m. Sean Deuer and Marcus Hinds threw 12.20m and 9.98m.
