Women's Track & Field Runs at the Ramapo Invite

NEW YORK, NY | The Rutgers University-Newark women's indoor track and field team raced at the Ramapo Invite this afternoon at The Armory.

In the 200m dash Chidimma Igwe recorded a 4th place finish with a time of 26.35 which also qualified her for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships (AARTFC). Joining Igwe in qualifying for the AARTFC was Sara Jaquez with a time of 33.95. Brya Byrd followed suit and also registered a AARTFC qualifying time in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04.00.

As was the trend of the afternoon, Brooke Bachia and Yumna Elsherif both ran times that qualified them for AARTFC. Bachia recorded a time of 2:52.13 and Elsherif ran 4:11.74 in the 800m. Carmelle Alexis posted a time of 13.13 in the 60m hurdles good for 9th and a qualifying time for the AARTFC. Faith Remias etched her name into the AARTFC in both the shot put and the weight throw with tosses of 9.74m and 13.22m, respectively.
