Igwe Shines at the 23rd Annual DeSchriver Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA | Chidimma Igwe won the 400m run for the Scarlet Raiders at the 23rd Annual DeSchriver Invitational on Sunday.

Igwe's incredible day started with a 4th place finish in the 55m dash with a time of 7.57. Also competing in the 55m dash were Brya Byrd and Peal Oparebea who clocked times of 7.85 and 7.88, respectively. Selene Guner and Sara Jaquez also recorded times of 8.53 and 8.96.

In the 200m dash Igwe took 2nd with a time of 26.59, which qualifies her for the AARTFC. Taylor Ricks also raced in the 200m dash and finished 27th with a time of 34.15. Igwe's winning time in the 400m dash was clocked at 1:01.14 with Carmelle Alexis crossing eight seconds later with a time of 1:09.33.

Brooke Bachia raced to a 4th place finish in the 600m with a time of 2:02.81. Yumna Elsherif tallied a time of 3:51.30 in the 800m run.

Faith Remias took 11th in the weight throw with a distance of 13.53m and 16th in the shot put with a distance of 10.40m.
