NEW YORK, NY | Chidimma Igwe broke the Rutgers University-Newark 200m dash record at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships this afternoon at the armory.
Igwe's time of 25.81 broke her former teammate's record, Zrreyah Moore (26.16) which was set at last year's NJAC Indoor Championship. The time for Igwe gave her an 11th place finish.
Brya Byrd and Carmelle Alexis both ran in the 60m high hurdles with Byrd recording a time of 9.58 before Alexis clocked in a personal best time of 9.73. Closing out the opening afternoon of the championships, Chidimma Igwe ran her second fastest time in the 60m dash with a time of 8.01.
The women's quad of Byrd, Igwe, Alexis and Pearl Oparebea took 12th at the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:49.44.
Faith Remias placed 14th in the weight throw with a distance of 14.88m.
