GLASSBORO, NJ | The Rutgers-Newark baseball team suffered a 10-0 loss to New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponents, #19 Rowan University.
Rutgers-Newark (17-18, 2-13) was held to four hits as a team while Connor Baksh (4-2) picked up his second loss of the season after hurling three innings with one strikeout. Rowan (22-10, 8-7) used 12 hits to tally 10 runs behind three hits from Kevin Stewart.
Robert Gonzalez gave the Scarlet Raiders their first hit of the game with a double to center field but would ultimately get stranded on the bases. Rowan was able to open the scoring in the bottom of the second with a 2 RBI single by Stewart. Rowan added four runs in the following frame to boost its lead to 6-0 over the Scarlet Raiders.
Rutgers-Newark picked up hits from Daniel Fedorco and Gilroy Prial but was unable to bring them home as Rowan added four more runs scattered across three innings to close out the win.
