Raider Men Wrap Up Ramapo Season Opener

NEW YORK, NY - The Rutgers-Newark men's track & field program had student-athletes compete at the Ramapo Season Opener being held at the world famous Armory in Manhattan.

Sprinting his way through the day was Jason Abita. He competed in the unseeded section of the men's 60-meter dash, where he raced to a time of 7.77 in heat three. Abita then registered a time of 24.95 in the 200 meters.

Wascar Olivero clocked a time of 4:59.52 in the men's one mile run. He later competed in the 3,000 meters, where he registered a time of 10:17.94. Carlos Gonzales Delgado also competed in the 3,000 meters, where he recorded a time of 10:28.55 in the event. Daniel Cortez registered a time of 2:07.64 in the 800-meter run.

The next scheduled meet is January 24th at Widener University in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Jane and David Ott Center.
