ITHACA, NY - The Rutgers-Newark women's track and field team put up a strong showing at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships held at the A&E Center in Ithaca, NY. Despite facing stiff competition, several Scarlet Raiders turned in impressive performances across multiple events.

On the women's side, Fejiro Akiri had an excellent weekend, highlighted by a strong performance on Friday night. She competed in the women's shot put, recording a mark of 12.45 meters (40-10.25), which earned her a solid sixth-place finish. The next day, Akiri continued her success in the weight throw, placing seventh with a distance of 15.83 meters (51-11.25), further solidifying her position as one of the top throwers in the region.

Shanil Auguste, known for her top performances, faced a bit of a challenge but still managed to compete at a high level. She recorded a mark of 13.10 meters (42-11.75) in the weight throw and followed up with an 11.85-meter (38-10.50) performance in the shot put, showing resilience despite not hitting her usual top marks.
