Glassboro, N.J. – The Scarlet Raiders traveled to Glassboro, New Jersey, where they faced off against the nationally ranked #12 Rowan University Profs. The game quickly got away from Rutgers-Newark, as Rowan erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the first inning, immediately seizing control and setting the tone for what would become a dominant offensive performance. Rowan added single runs in the second and continued the pressure with six more in the fourth and five in the fifth, building an insurmountable lead. By the end of five innings, the Profs had tallied 21 runs on 23 hits.
Rutgers-Newark, despite the early deficit, continued to battle and managed to put together a few scoring opportunities of their own. They broke onto the scoreboard in the second inning with an RBI from
Devin Rojas and added three more runs in the sixth, fueled by a brief offensive surge that included scores from
Tommy Ruth,
Gilroy Prial, and
Matthew Torreto. In total, the Scarlet Raiders collected 10 hits and scored four runs, showing moments of resilience against a tough Rowan pitching staff. However, defensive struggles and a rough outing on the mound proved costly.
Joey Santi was tagged with the loss for Rutgers-Newark, dropping his record to 1–4 on the season, while Rowan's Austin Kreyenhagen earned the win and improved to 4–1.
