EWING, N.J. - Rutgers-Newark began competition at the 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Men's Highlights
The Scarlet Raider men closed out the opening day tied for seventh place with one point on the board. Zach Muyingo, was the lone Scarlet Raider to earn points as he secured an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.64 meters.
With several key events still to come, the men's squad remains within striking distance of a top finish as they gear up for Day 2.
Women's Highlights
The Rutgers-Newark women's team currently sits in fifth place with six points, fueled by strong showings in both field and track events.
Fejiro Akiri earned a third-place finish in the hammer throw, launching it 45.72 meters to land on the podium. Shanil Auguste also contributed with a 10th-place finish, recording a throw of 35.93 meters.
On the track, Morgan Mackres battled through the grueling 10,000 meters, placing 10th with a time of 45:05.75.
Sprinter Zrreyah Moore continued her impressive form, placing second in the prelims of the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.23 seconds to secure a spot in the finals. Moore also secured a spot in the 200 meters finals finishing fourth in prelims with a time of 25.13 seconds.
Tomorrow will mark the final day of the NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Competition will begin at 10:00am. Live results and video can be found here.
