Rutgers-Newark Athletics

SENIOR (2013): Appeared in 10 games as a pitcher… worked 13 innings, allowing 17 earned runs on 27 hits and seven walks with two strikeouts.

JUNIOR (2013): Appeared in nine games as a reliever without figuring in a decision… worked 10-2/3 innings, allowing 11 earned runs on 18 hits and four walks while recording four strikeouts.

FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE (2010 & 2011):  Team captain and A Region 19 All-Academic baseball player at Union County College.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Three-year letterwinner at Union Catholic Regional HS where he helped the Vikings reach the Union County playoffs three straight seasons… earned programs’ Brian Piccolo Award.

PERSONAL:  Plans to major in criminal justice at R-N… son of Eileen and James Caravano… has three older siblings (brothers Manny and Vinny, and sister Margo)… comes from an athletic family: cousin Matt  Caravano played the infield at New Jersey City (2005-07), cousin Christina Caravano played softball at Indian River State, and cousins Matt Tevald (Rutgers) and Nicole Caravano (Sacred Heart) competed in swimming.
