PROFILE OF THE WEEK (April 22, 2010)

SENIOR (2010): Reserve outfielder and pinch runner who saw action in 15 games while earning eight starting nods… went one for three against Brooklyn College (4/5)… stole a base and scored a run in a 4-2 loss to Richard Stockton (4/3)… had a walk, an RBI and a run in a13-6 loss to Montclair State (4/13).

JUNIOR (2009): Saw action in eight games as a pinch runner, outfielder and pinch hitter… scored a run in the first game of an NJAC doubleheader against Ramapo. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A Spanish Honor Society student at Roselle Catholic HS where she did not participate in varsity athletics. 

PERSONAL: Academic senior who walked on to make the Raider softball team in 2009… majoring in marketing at Rutgers-Newark… transferred to R-N in spring of 2009 after attending Union County College and Kean University… did not compete in intercollegiate athletics at either school… would like to run her own sports and entertainment company after graduate school… lists her parents, Olga and Nelson Guas, as the people she most admires… has two younger sisters, Jessica and Amanda… Mets are her favorite team and David Wright her favorite athlete… chose R-N because of its nationally-ranked business program… enjoys the diversity and fast-paced setting of the Newark campus.
