PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Sept. 22, 2010)

JUNIOR (2010): Started in 19 of 20 appearances for the 12-9-1 Raiders… ranked fourth in points (10) and goals (4) on the squad while registering a pair of game-winning markers… put 21 of his 40 shots on goal (52.5%)… netted game-winning goal in a 4-1 victory over Albright (9/11) in the opening round of the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic to earn all-tournament berth… netted game winner in a 4-0 decision over Berkeley (11/3)… opened the season with a goal in a 5-1 win over Farmingdale State (9/1)… had the Raiders’ lone goal in a 6-1 loss to William Paterson (10/23)… notched assists in a 3-1 win over St. Joseph’s LI (9/15) and a 5-1 decision over York NY (10/18).

SOPHOMORE (2009): Honorable Mention All-NJAC in his first season in Scarlet & Black, helping 13-6-4 Raiders to NJAC and ECAC Metro Championship Tournament berths… started in 19 of the 20 matches in which he appeared, helping fuel the most prolific attack in the NJAC… put 10 of his 41 shots on goal… totaled five points with a goal and three assists… scored R-N’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Ramapo (9/19/09)… notched assists in wins over Medgar Evers (9/13/09) and Staten Island (10/5/09) and a 3-2 loss to Farmingdale State (11/14/09) in the ECAC Metro semifinals.

BEFORE R-N: Attended Bergen Community College (2007-2009) where he played intramural soccer. 

FRESHMAN (2006): Played at Kean University.

PERSONAL: Three-year letterwinner at Cliffside Park HS... senior season team reached North Group 2 finals and the Bergen County semifinals... chosen Bergen Record Athlete of the Week once as a senior... Red Raiderstook BCSL-American Group 2 title and reached the county semifinals during his junior season.

CLUB: MVP of the U-23 Evolution Soccer Club in 2007... played on Hoboken club team that travelled to Mexico in 2006.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in information systems at R-N... born in Manabi, Ecuador... son of Laura and Lorge Quiroz... has one younger sister, Katty, and a younger brother, Luis.
