Zachary Brown's fielder's choice grounder to first base brought home the winning run in the top of the 11th as Montclair State outlasted Rutgers-Newark, 4-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Kevin Weime were brilliant in their starting roles. Williams, who brought a 5-0 record into the fray, gave up just four hits while striking out a career-high 11 and giving up no walks in 7-1/3 innings. In his first collegiate start, Weime gave up just three hits, struck out three and walked five before departing with two aboard and no one out in the eighth. Each carried a shutout into the eighth, and neither figured in the final decision.

Michael Streaman picked up his fourth win without a loss by going four innings in relief for the Red Hawks (12-11, NJAC 5-3). He struck out three, walked no one and yielded three singles.

On Saturday, the Raiders (15-9, NJAC 5-4) visit Richard Stockton while the Red Hawks host The College of New Jersey in a pair of NJAC doubleheaders. Both twinbills are set to start at noon.
