MAHWAH, NJ – Rookie top-flight player Bushra Memon had a share of both Scarlet Raider victories, but Ramapo College downed Rutgers-Newark, 7-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match at the Ramapo Athletic Center.

Memon blew past the Roadrunners' Laura Strandberg, 6-0, 6-2 on the No. 1 singles court after teaming with classmate Agnes Bangayan for an 8-6 decision over Strandberg and Brittany Pitts in the top-flight doubles. 

Memon upped her singles record to 4-2 on the season while she and Bangayan evened the doubles ledger at 3-3.

Sophomore Ashley Lawrence fell in a first-set tie-breaker to Jywel Almirante to lose 7-6, 6-3 in a tightly-contested battle on the No. 2 singles court. 

Rutgers-Newark (2-4, NJAC 0-3) visits William Paterson on Thursday afternoon for another NJAC showdown.
