NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark scored all of its runs in the third inning in a 5-2 win over Penn State Abington in Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Kyle Van Vliet (4-1) got the win by going six full innings, striking out nine and walking two against five hits. He allowed both runs.
Sophomore
Michael Garcia stalled the Nittany Lions' attack for two full innings, striking out two while allowing three hits, before turning the ninth inning over to senior closer
Nick Evans who posted his third save by sending the visitors down in order.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Baruch College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the stadium.
