IN THE OPENER, senior designated hitter Mike Ciaramello's 2-out RBI single capped a 3-run seventh inning rally which staked the Scarlet Raiders (15-24, NJAC 4-14) to a 9-5 lead.

The Profs (28-11, NJAC 12-6) scored a run in the seventh and four in the bottom of the eighth to knot the game.  Back-to-back 1-out doubles by leftfielder Scott Bruno and centerfielder Nick Kreiger produced the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

The Raiders piled up 14 hits against Prof pitching with junior second baseman Nelson Lopez going two for five with a 2-run double in the fifth and sophomore leftfielder Jason McCluskey also notching two hits.  Rowan used six pitchers in the game.

IN GAME TWO, Rowan jumped on sophomore starter Michael Garcia (0-3) for six runs in the first inning and coasted home.  Garcia notched just two outs while the Profs took advantage of five hits, two walks and a hit batsman.

Sophomore Tyler Kwiatek came on to settle things down, giving up three runs on seven hits until senior Anthony Palladino came on to blank Rowan in the eighth.

Troisi and Lopez had two hits apiece to pace the Raiders with Troisi delivering a 2-out, 2-run single through the right side to cap a 3-run second inning.

But the Raiders would score just once more when McCluskey singled with two out in the fourth, stole second and came home on a single by senior centerfielder Chris Ballester to whittle the Profs' lead to 6-4.

The losses capped a frustrating finish to the Rutgers-Newark season during which the team lost its final 11 NJAC games and 13 of its final 14 contests overall.
