Men's Cross Country Wraps Up Border Battle Competition

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Rutgers-Newark men's cross country squad competed this afternoon at the Border Battle at Dream Park.

The top finisher for Rutgers-Newark was Adam Abushanab. The senior recorded a time of 26:54.8 in the 8k. It was his second-fastest time this season in the event. Next to cross the line for Rutgers-Newark was Carlos Gonzales Delgado for the second straight week. He clocked a time of 30:48.3 - his best this season. Daniel Cortez continues to show promise as his time of 33:44.9 was almost two minutes better than his previous season-best time. Wascar Olivero was the fourth Raider to cross the line (35:40.3), followed by Shareek Prophet (38:45.8).

Rutgers-Newark has a two-week hiatus before competing at the NJAC Championships on Nov. 2. The meet will be hosted by TCNJ in Ewing at Green Lane.
