Abushanab Brings Home Second Team All-NJAC Honors

PITMAN, NJ - Rutgers-Newark men's cross country standout Adam Abushanab earned All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Second Team honors after his performance at the conference meet on Saturday.

The senior from Jersey City, NY, completed the 8k course in a time of 25:55.5 - two minutes better than his season best - for a 12th-place finish. He registered a split of 6:06.2 on the final go-round to move up one spot. Abushanab's finish was 20 places better than last year's final placing of 32nd.

Abushanab's all-conference honor is the first for Raider Nation since fellow Jersey City native Tauqeer Qazi earned second team honors in 2009.
