NOTES: Four-year letterwinner who career was interrupted in the middle by a medical hardship season… totaled 752.5 points, 597 kills, 57 aces, 246 digs and 175 blocks (22 solo / 175 assisted) in 261 career games… averaged 2.29 kills, .22 aces, .94 digs and .67 blocks per set.

SENIOR (2012): Third on the squad in points (270.5), points average (2.94), kills (222) and kills average (2.41) for 10-15 Raiders… second on team with 26 aces (.28 aces per game)… totaled 113 digs while getting in on 37 blocks (8 solo / 29 assisted)… made just 33 reception errors in 501 chances (.934)… played in all 92 sets… posted double digit points in 14 of 25 matches… had 10 or more kills nine times… notched a double-double with a career-high 11 digs and a season-high 16 kills for a career-best 18.5 points in a 3-2 win at NJIT (4/11/12)… hammered down 14 kills and added two aces and a solo block for 17.0 points in a 3-1 loss to Harvard (4/14/12)… recorded a dozen kills, three aces and a pair of assisted blocks for 16.0 points in a 3-1 loss at Harvard (3/30/12)… posted 14 kills in a 3-1 loss at Sacred Heart (3/31/12).

JUNIOR (2011):  Led the 17-12 Raiders in blocking while ranking second on the squad in hitting percentage .358… posted 11 solos, 84 assisted and 95 total blocks to lead R-N in all three categories… fourth on the squad in points (263), points average (2.83), kills (192) and kills average (2.06)… recorded 13 double-figure point matches while collecting 10 more kills four times in 28 outings… hammered down a career-high 17 kills in a 3-1 loss at NYU (4/11/11)… had a team individual high eight blocks (one solo, seven assisted) plus eight kills and three aces in a 3-2 win at Stevens (3/11/11)… contributed 14 kills, a solo block and a pair of assisted blocks in a 3-2 loss to Cardinal Stritch (3/15/11)… posted 13 kills with two aces and an assisted block in a 3-1 loss at Springfield (4/9/11)… hit .526 (11-1-19) with 11 kills and three assisted blocks in a 3-1 loss at Pepperdine (3/19/11)… had seven kills without an error in 11 swings (.636) and added an ace and three assisted blocks in a 3-0 loss to Penn State (3/26/11)… hit .800 (8-0-10) with eight kills, a solo block and three assisted blocks in a 3-0 win over Saint Francis (4/23/11) in the opening round of the EIVA Championship… got in on seven blocks (one solo, six assisted) in a 3-1 win over Baruch (1/30/11).

SOPHOMORE (2009): Averaged 1.44 kills and 1.00 digs per set while playing in nine matches… had a season-highs of 10 kills, six digs and a pair of assisted blocks while handling 24 services without an error in a 3-0 win at NJIT (2/25/09)… opened the year with seven kills in a 3-0 loss to IPFW (1/23/09)… 

FRESHMAN (2008): Second on the squad with a 2.67 kills per game average as a rookie starter... totaled 194.0 points while hitting .174... fifth on the team with 13 service aces despite playing in less than 80% of the squad’s games... .065 blocking average was fourth on the team... had six double-digit kill matches and nine double-figure point contests... hammered down a career-high 14 kills to go along with two aces, a solo block and an assisted block for 17.5 points in a 2-1 win over Mercyhurst (1/12/08)... notched 13 kills, seven digs, four assisted blocks and an ace in a 3-2 loss to NJIT (1/30/08)... had 11 kills in each match against NYU (1/22/08 & 3/4/08), hitting .471 (11-6-19) in the 3-0 win in January and .444 (11-3-18) in the 3-1 loss in March... also had 11 kills and seven digs in a 3-0 loss to Loyola-Chicago (1/25/08)... piled up 13.5 points on 10 kills, an ace and five assisted blocks in a 3-1 loss to #6 Ball State (4/4/08)... had a personal best of nine digs to go along with eight kills in a 3-0 loss to IPFW (1/26/08). 

HIGH SCHOOL: Named the team’s most improved player at Los Alamitos HS, helping the school to the quarterfinal round of the CIFSS playoffs as a senior… Griffins posted a 23-7 record… two-year letterwinner under coaches Phil White and Dave Hubor.

CLUB: Has played for three years (2005-2007) with the Highline Volleyball Club, helping the team to a Bronze Division championship in the 2006 junior Olympics…. played for the Surf City Volleyball Club (2002-2004).

PERSONAL: Born and raised in Los Alamitos… majoring in physics at Rutgers-Newark… youngest of four children of Cheryl and Randy Metheny.
