PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Feb. 1, 2012)

NOTES: NCAA D-I/II service champion in 2011 and runner-up in 2012… four-year letterwinner and two-year starter for the Raiders… totaled 123 aces for his career, posting 56 (.57 per set) as a junior and 54 (.59) as a senior to register a .49 average in 250 career games… piled up 954.0 career points (3.82) on 759 kills, 123 aces and 131 blocks (13 solos, 118 assisted)… career .241 (759-378-1584) hitting percentage… totaled 306 digs (1.22 per set).

SENIOR (2012): Ranked second in NCAA D-I/II and tops in the EIVA in aces per game for the 10-15 Raiders… led squad in points (393.0), points average (4.26), kills (314), kills average (3.41), aces (54) and aces average (.59)… second on the squad in digs (132) and digs average (1.43)… played in all 92 sets… posted double-digit points in all but three matches while reaching the 20-point plateau six times… delivered multiple aces in 16 contests… notched career highs of 25.5 points and 21 kills in a 3-2 win at NJIT (4/11/12) while adding four aces… roped a season-high six aces to go along with 11 kills for 17.0 points in a 3-0 loss to George Mason (4/7/12)… hammered down 20 kills with four aces and seven digs for 24.5 points in a 3-2 loss at Stevens (3/3/12)… notched 20 kills with seven digs in a 3-0 loss to NJIT (1/21/12)… posted two solo blocks, four assisted blocks, 14 kills and two aces for 20.0 points in a 3-2 win over Kean (1/27/12)… recorded 20.5 points on 16 kills, three aces and three assisted blocks in a 3-1 loss to NJIT (2/15/12)… came up with 11 digs, 16 kills, two solo blocks and two assisted blocks for 19.0 points in a 3-2 loss to Princeton (2/17/12)… made 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart (2/2/12), adding a dozen kills, two aces and an assisted block for 14.5 points… notched 17 kills, three aces and two assisted blocks for 21.0 points in a 3-1 win over New Jersey City (2/21/12)… opened the year with six assisted blocks plus 14 kills and two aces for 19.0 points in a 3-2 win over NYU (1/20/20).

JUNIOR (2011):  All-EAST second team and NCAA D-I-II Statistical Champion in service aces per set (.57) for the 17-12 Raiders who reached the EIVA Championship semifinals… led R-N in points (416), points average (4.25), kills (328), kills average (3.35), service aces (56) and aces average (.57) while playing in all but one match… hit .278 (328-149-643)… failed to reach double digits in points just twice in 28 matches, piling up 10 or more kills 18 times… delivered aces in 20 matches with 16 multiple-ace outings… had multiple digs in all but one match… third on the squad with 107 digs (1.09) and blocks (4 solo, 57 assisted, 61 total)… hammered down a career-high 20 kills twice during the year… posted a career-high 24.0 points with 20 kills, two aces and four assisted blocks to go along with six digs in a 3-1 loss at Sacred Heart (4/2/11)… piled up 20 kills on .434 hitting (20-6-33), two aces and three assisted blocks for 23.5 points in a 3-1 loss at NYU (4/11/11)… notched 19 kills, a pair of aces and four assisted blocks for 23.0 points in a 3-2 win at Stevens (3/11/11)… had 14 kills, five aces and three assisted blocks for 20.5 points in a 3-1 win over Stevens (1/30/11)… roped a career-high seven aces to go along with a dozen kills on .588 hitting (12-2-17) in a 3-0 win at Ramapo (3/29/11)… hit .480 (16-4-25) with 16 kills and two aces in a 3-1 win over Princeton (2/4/11)… hit a team individual high .778 (7-0-9) with two aces and a pair of assisted blocks in a 3-0 win over Ramapo (2/8/11)… delivered six aces and added 15 kills and two assisted blocks in a 3-1 loss to Pepperdine (3/19/11)… tallied 16 kills with three assisted blocks and seven digs in a 3-0 win at NJIT (4/15/11)… matched his career-high with eight digs to go along with 13 kills, an ace and two assisted blocks in a 3-1 loss to George Mason (2/19/11).

SOPHOMORE (2010): Came on late in season to become join the regular rotation and average 2.73 points and 2.09 kills per game… started in nine of the 14 matches in which he appeared… totaled 67 kills, a dozen aces 43 digs and 16 blocks (1 solo, 15 assists)… had four double-figure scoring matches and a pair of double-digit kills efforts… had 15.0 points and a dozen kills while chipping in two aces and pair of assisted blocks in the 3-1 upset of Penn State (3/27)… hit .667 with 11 kills, six digs and three assisted blocks in a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart (4/12)… notched eight kills, two aces and a career-high eight digs in a 3-0 win over George Mason (4/3)… hit .500 (7-1-12) with a career-high three aces in a 3-0 win over Harvard (4/9).

FRESHMAN (2009): Saw action in 13 matches, averaging a solid 1.79 kills per set… averaged .86 digs… notched a career-highs of 16 kills on .323 hitting and six assisted blocks while adding a service ace in a 3-2 win at Sacred Heart (2/27/09)… posted 11 kills with an assisted block in a 3-0 loss at Ohio State (2/5/09)… hit .500 (7 kills, 2 errors, 10 attacks) in his rookie debut against IPFW (1/23/09). 

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner at Tesoro HS under head coach Ryan Scott where he helped the Titans to a cumulative record of 16-8... Titans went 9-3 in his junior season followed by a 7-5 mark in 2008.

CLUB: Has participated for the Riptides in the Orange County Volleyball Club since 2005 under coaches Jay Hosack and Evan Alexander.

PERSONAL: From the same high school program that produced All-EAST setter Jeff Zornig (2008-11), but the two never played on the same squad... has one younger brother (Sam)... majoring in business marketing at Rutgers-Newark.
