NOTES:  Rutgers-Newark all-time hits leader with 217 who started in 160 of a possible 161 games during his career, including 159 at shortstop… helped Raiders to a cumulative record of 85-75-1 capped by three consecutive 20-win season, three ECAC Metro Championship playoff berths and a pair of NJAC Championship Tournament appearances… tops in career sacrifice flies with 11… tied for R-N career stolen base percentage mark with Andy Jobe (2000, 2002) with 28 steals in just 31 attempts… third in career RBIs with 141… tied for second in career runs scored with 145… fifth in career doubles with 39… tied for sixth in career triples with 10… third in total bases with 318.

PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Spring 2010)

SENIOR (2011): Second team ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic and All-NJAC shortstop for the 23-19 Scarlet Raiders who shared the ECAC Metro Championship… first team All-NJCBA pick… led R-N in batting average (.369), slugging percentage (.522), on-base percentage (.455), hits (58), doubles (12), home runs (4) and runs (46) while ranking second in RBIs (32)… made just 12 errors in 203 chances at shortstop, helping turn 17 double plays… stole 17 bases in 18 attempts to tie for the 10th highest season total in R-N history…hit safely in 32 games with 16 multiple-hit efforts… went five for six with a grand slam in a 16-7 win over William Paterson (4/29/11)… went three for four with a solo home run, a double and scored four times in a 13-6 loss to Johns Hopkins (3/8/11)… went four for five with three RBIs and a stolen base in an 8-4 win over Rutgers-Camden (4/17/11)… went four for five with a double, two RBIs and scored twice in a 10-7 win over Penn State Abington (3/2/11)…went three for six with two doubles and an RBI in a heart-breaking 15-inning 2-1 loss to Montclair State (5/7/11) in the second round of the NJAC Championship tournament.

JUNIOR (2010): All-NJAC and All-ECAC Metro first-team shortstop who started in all 43 Raider games… second-team All-New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Div. II/III and third team ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic choice… earned a NJAC Baseball Player of the Week honor… hit .337 with a team-high 51 RBIs to tie him for the fourth best single season in R-N history… totaled a dozen doubles, four triples and five home runs to push his slugging percentage to .552… 21 extra-base hits gave him 90 total bases… walked 18 times and was hit by the pitcher five times to post a .411 on-base percentage… delivered a team-high four sacrifice flies… scored 40 runs, stealing nine bases in just 11 attempts… led team with 124 assists, fielding .925… helped to turn 23 double plays… had 19 multiple-hit games highlighted by a three for five with an RBI single, an RBI double and a 2-run triple in an 11-9 loss to TCNJ (5/4) in the NJAC Tournament… drove in seven runs with a grand slam, a 2-run single and a sacrifice fly in a 22-12 win over Cal Lutheran (3/19)… had a dozen multiple-RBI games including a string of four straight games with three or more runs batted in… went four for seven with seven RBIs, a home run, a double and a sacrifice fly in a doubleheader split with Richard Stockton (5/1)… stole two bases and scored twice while going three for four with an RBI in a 7-2 win over Scranton (3/27)… had an RBI triple and a 3-run home run in a 22-10 win over Ramapo (4/30).

SOHOMORE (2009): All-New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association third team selection…started at shortstop in all 38 games, excelling defensively and offensively for the second straight season as a starter… hit .314 while ranking third on the team with 34 RBIs… had a team-high 123 assists and got in on 25 double plays while committing just a dozen errors in 195 chances… third on the team with 19 extra base hits (seven doubles, two triples and five home runs) to push his slugging percentage to .484… second on the team with 23 walks which helped up his on-base percentage to .407… scored 36 runs and was successful on his only steal attempt… had three sacrifice hits and two sacrifice flies… hit safely in 26 games with 15 multiple-hit efforts… had at least one assist in every game but two… went four for four with five RBIs and two runs scored in a 21-6 romp over Staten Island (4/27)… in a 13-5 win over Redlands (3/22), went three for four with a home run, a double, a walk, four runs scored and three RBIs… went three for five with a double and an RBI single in a 9-4 win over New Jersey City (3/30)… went three for four with a double, two RBIs and a run scored in a 12-0 win over Rutgers-Camden (4/4)… went three for five with a 2-run single in an 8-6 loss to Kean (4/24)… collected three hits, including a double, in a 5-1 win over Richard Stockton (4/19)… in a doubleheaders sweep of Cal Lutheran (3/21), went four for nine with two RBIs, four runs scored and a solo home run… had a 2-run triple to help fuel an 8-run fifth inning in a 14-11 win over Johns Hopkins (3/7)… hammered a 2-run home run to cap Raiders’ 4-run fifth inning in a 5-4 victory over The College of NJ (3/28)… stroked two doubles, drove in a run and scored twice in a 13-6 win over Whittier (3/15)… went two for three with a 2-run homer, a bases-loaded walk in a 16-9 win over Lehman (4/8). 

FRESHMAN (2008): Three-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie Player of the Week following one of the top freshman seasons in Rutgers-Newark history… named to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Division II-III All-Rookie Team… started all 38 games, hitting .361 with 56 hits – both totals second among starters to classmate Matt Connors… batted .342 with a .452 slugging percentage and a .392 on-base percentage in NJAC play… fifth on the squad in RBI (24)… led defense with 122 assists while helping to turn 23 double plays… collected eight doubles and tied for the team lead with four triples to post a .465 slugging percentage… had a .398 on-base percentage… was successful on his only steal attempt of the season… hit safely in 34 of 38 games, posting multiple hits 16 times… went four for five with a triple and four RBI in a 12-4 win over FDU-Florham (3/25)… in the eighth inning of a 12-11 come-from-behind win over New Jersey City (4/24), he had a two-run triple and scored what proved to be the winning run to cap a three for five, 3-RBI performance… went three for four and scored twice in an 11-1 win over Eastern Connecticut (3/15)… went three for five with an RBI and a run in a 15-4 win over Richard Stockton (4/13)… also was three for five with an RBI and a run in an 8-6 win over Alvernia (4/14) the next day… went two for four with a double, three RBI and two runs in an 18-4 win over John Jay (4/15).

HIGH SCHOOL: Enjoyed a successful career for the Gaels… was a first team all-league performer and honorable mention all-county pick at shortstop in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons… captured the Parochial B North Title and a berth in the state finals in Toms River in 2006… qualified for state playoffs in each of the four years on varsity.
