Pedro Trevino's debut memorable by rallying from two games down for a 3-2 win over NYU in the opening round of The Golden Dome Invitational. NJIT stopped Hunter, 3-0, in the early match.

Austin Pappas, who posted a match-high 19 points, delivered a pair of aces and the Scarlet Raiders (1-0) hit .455 (five kills, no errors, 11 attacks) in the fifth set as Rutgers-Newark rallied, 22-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-9 for the victory. Pappas finished with a match-high 14 kills and got in on six of the Raiders' 12 blocks.
Senior outside hitter
Marcin Midura added 13 kills while junior middle hitter
Brett Pickens tallied 11.0 points with six kills, a solo block and eight assisted blocks. Senior middle hitter
Grant Metheny chipped in seven kills and an ace while getting in on a pair of blocks. Freshman setter
Manuel Felipez posted 34 assists and two aces while joining Pappas with a team-high six digs.
Freshman outside hitter Parker Kolodka paced the Violets (0-1) with 11 kills and three assisted blocks while senior middle blocker Luke Hamlet hit .533 with nine kills and just one error on 15 swings. Hamlet also got in on four of NYU's eight blocks. Sophomore setter Connor Mortland notched 35 assists while senior libero Jay Hayes registered a match-high 11 digs.
In the opener, NJIT (1-3) got 11 kills and an ace from freshman outside hitter TJ Jurko to sweep past Hunter (0-2), 25-23, 25-23, 25-12). Senior right side Adam Gustafson added 10 kills, seven digs and an assisted block for the Highlanders.
