Pappas posted a match-high 17.5 points with 14 kills, three aces and an assisted block as the Scarlet Raiders (9-12) downed the Division III Cougars (23-9), 25-22, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18, and ruin senior night for No. 14 Kean.
Metheny added a dozen kills, an ace and a solo block while Midura hammered down 10 kills, two aces and a pair of assisted blocks.
The Raiders hit .287 (43 kills, 18 errors, 87 attacks) behind 39 assists by freshman setter
Manuel Felipez who added an ace and a team-high six digs. Senior libero
Zack Chambers, Midura and Metheny had five digs apiece for the Raiders.
Junior middle hitter
Brett Pickens added five kills, three aces and three assisted blocks for Rutgers-Newark while freshman
Lorenzo Samin notched two kills, an ace and an assisted block.
Kean was led by Steve Vahalla with 14 kills, an ace and three assisted blocks while Kyle Farley and Christian Portera added 10 points apiece.
Rutgers-Newark now closes out its season with four EIVA matches beginning with George Mason in The Golden Dome on Saturday at 2 p.m.
