NOTES: Posted a career record of 7-4 as a junior college transfer… struck out 38 and walked 29 in 66 innings of work with an 8.45 ERA… started a dozen of 18 games in which he appeared.

SENIOR (2010): Posted the most wins on the Raider staff with a record of 5-3… fourth in innings pitched with 44-2/3, making eight starts with two relief appearances… 7.46 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 16 walks… blanked Montclair State (4/16) on five hits and four walks while striking out four in seven innings to get the victory and share the Raiders’ only shutout of the season, 9-0… struck out four, walked two, allowed two hits and gave up two runs in six innings in a 10-3 win over DeSales (4/7)… struck out seven while yielding no earned runs, one walk and seven singles in an 8-inning effort in a 17-3 win over John Jay (3/25)… got the opening-day victory over Mount St. Mary (3/3), going five innings while allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out two and walking two.

JUNIOR (2009): Posted a 2-1 record with four starts among eight appearances… had a 10.55 ERA with nine strikeouts and 13 walks in 21-1/3 innings… opened his season by going four innings as a starter in a 4-3 victory over Purchase (3/8), giving up two runs on two hits while striking out one and walking five… hurled an inning of no-hit, no-run relief in a 2-1 loss to TCNJ (2/28)… struck out three while allowing one run on one hit and a walk in two innings of relief in a 9-4 win over New Jersey City (3/30).

SOPHOMORE (2008): Pitched in three games for Kean with a 4.70 ERA, seven strikeouts and eight walks... earned a win in his only start against Staten Island (4/8), giving up three hits and one run while striking out five and walking five in five innings of a 12-1 Cougar victory... posted a scoreless, one-hit inning of relief, striking out one and walking one, in an 18-4 win over Drew (3.24)... pitched 1-2/3 innings of relief in a 19-2 loss to Chapman (3/16).

FRESHMAN (2007): Pitched for Middlesex County College, posting a 2-1 record with a 3.98 ERA... hurled 29-1/3 innings with 18 strikeouts and eight walks while yielding 28 hits and 13 earned runs.

BEFORE RUTGERS-NEWARK: Two-year letterwinner at Old Bridge HS... played summer baseball with the Howell Spartans.

PERSONAL: Son of Kathy and John Abair... has a younger brother, John, and sister, Amanda... born in Brooklyn…criminal justice major.
