FRESHMAN (2010): Appeared in 15 games as a reliever with one save and an 0-1 record… struck out 15 while walking 10 and giving up 27 hits in 17-2/3 innings… posted a 7.13 ERA… pitched in both games of a doubleheader sweep of Kean (4/10), giving up one earned run while striking out two, walking on and giving up two hits in 2-1/3 innings and getting the save in game one… struck out two, walked one, gave up four hits and allowed no runs in a two-inning stint in a 7-2 loss at Chapman (3/13)… struck out two against four hits in a scoreless 2-2/3 inning effort in a 7-5 loss to Rutgers-Camden (4/3)… struck out three against one hit and no runs in a 9-0 win over Montclair State (4/16).

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball and wrestling at Nutley HS… two-time all-area baseball player … helped Nutley to back-to-back state playoff berths… notched a 3-1 pitching record with four complete games in the county and state tournaments – including an upset of Seton Hall Prep… second-team All-Essex County as a junior after posting a 5-2 pitching record for the district championship squad… played in the NJSIAA Senior All-Star Game.

PERSONAL: Undecided on major field of study at Rutgers-Newark… son of Linda and Frederick Szablicki… has an older sister, Melissa.
