Rutgers-Newark Athletics

FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action if eight games as a second baseman, pinch runner and pinch hitter… scored twice, posted a single in five at-bats and drew three walks… perfect on five chances in the infield… scored a run in his first appearance against Mount St. Mary (3/3)… went one for two against PSU-Abington (4/27).

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time Honorable Mention All-Passaic County and four-year letterwinner at Hawthorne Christian Academy... three-year letterwinner in soccer for the Defenders, helping the squad to an Olympic League championship as a senior… Merit Roll student.

SUMMER LEAGUE: Has played for the Passaic American Legion team for the past two summers… played for the Meadowlands Braves in 2007.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in biology at Rutgers-Newark… son of Veronica and Alphonse Iannuzzi… has two younger sisters, Marissa and Gianna… grandfather, Alphonse Ianuzzi, Sr., played semi-pro baseball for the Passaic Comets (1946-1956).
