NOTES:
Three-year starter at third base who rates among the best power hitters in Scarlet Raider history… career .320 hitter who amassed 59 extra base hits… ranked third in home runs (28), fifth in RBIs (126), fifth in total bases (272) and tied for 10th in sacrifice flies (7).

SENIOR (2010): First team All-NJAC, All-NJCBA and All-ECAC Metro third baseman who was also was a second team ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic pick… started in all 43 games for the 22-21 Raiders… led team and was second in NJAC with a .713 slugging percentage which was the 10th highest in R-N history… led R-N in batting average (.381) and extra-base hits (26)… 11 home runs led the NJAC and tied for the fourth most in a season in the R-N books… 114 total bases tied as the third highest count in R-N history… five triples tied for the eighth most in an R-N season and ranked second in the NJAC… drew 13 walks and was hit by pitch seven times to up his on-base percentage to .445… scored 44 runs while driving in 38… stole six bases in seven attempts and also delivered two sacrifice flies… piled up 10 double, five triples and 11 home runs… hit safely in 29 games, getting multiple hits 19 times… drove in a career-high eight runs with a pair of homers, a double and a sacrifice fly while scoring three times in a 22-10 win over Ramapo (4/30)… closed out his career with four multiple-hit games, going a combined 10 for 17 with six RBIs, three home runs, a triple and a double… stroked the game-winning RBI triple to cap a three for four effort in an 8-7 win over Richard Stockton (5/1)… had a two-run homer while going two for four in an 11-9 loss to TCNJ (5/4) in the NJAC Tournament… homered, doubled, drove in two and scored three times in a 13-10 loss to Montclair State (5/5) in the NJAC Tournament… went three for four with a solo home run and a stolen base in an 8-4 loss to Rutgers-Camden (5/13) in the ECAC Metro Playoffs… went thre for six with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored in a 16-4 win over Ithaca (3/15)… hit solo home runs in each game of a doubleheader sweep of Cal Lutheran (3/19)… went five for five with a solo home run in a 9-8 loss to Whittier (3/20)… went three for five, scored three times and hit a home run in his fourth straight game in a 16-9 loss to LaVerne (3/21)… had a two-run homer while going three for four in a 6-4 loss to Montclair State (4/2)… went three for four with two doubles and a pair of RBIs in a 7-3 win over New Jersey City (4/15)… went three for four with an RBI and a double in a 16-5 loss to William Paterson (4/22).

JUNIOR (2009): Honorable mention All-NJAC… tied for the team lead in home runs (10) while ranking second in RBIs (37)… primary third baseman who started in 37 games, collecting six doubles to push his slugging percentage to .538… drew 16 walks and was hit by a pitch five ties to boost his on-base percentage to .375… tied for second on squad in runs scored (37)… stole four bases in five attempts… second on the squad with 99 assists while helping to turn five double plays… batted .290, hitting safely in 27 games… ended the season on a 7-game hitting streak… notched a dozen multiple-hit games highlighted by a 3-home run, 4-hit, 4-RBI explosion against Rowan (4/18)… went six for nine with five RBIs and five runs in the doubleheader against Rowan (4/18)… homered in each of two losses to La Verne (3/17, 3/20), belting a solo shot in the opener and going three for four with four RBIs and another solo home run in the second contest… helped Raiders down Kean (3/27), 7-6, in 10 innings by going three for four with an RBI double and a bizarre pop-up sacrifice fly… belted a grand slam to fuel a 7-run third inning in a 7-1 win over New Jersey City (4/23)… helped Raiders upend Johns Hopkins (3/7), 14-11, by going two for four and keying an 8-run 5th inning by leading off the frame with a single, scoring, and capping the rally with a 3-run home run… had a 2-run double, scored twice and went two for four in a 14-10 win over William Paterson (4/5)…had a 2-run homer and a sacrifice fly while walking twice and scoring two times in a 14-5 win over St. Joseph’s LI (4/17)…hammered a 3-run homer, going two for four and scoring twice, in a 21-6 win over Staten Island (4/27). 

SOPHOMORE (2008): Drove in a team-high 42 runs as the everyday third baseman , starting in 35 games… third on the squad with a .476 slugging percentage who also third in extra-base hits (14)… six home runs were the second most on the team while his eight doubles tied him for second… hit safely in 24 games, getting multiple hits a dozen times… had nine multiple-RBI games, including seven games with three or more… collected 43 hits and scored 21 times… stole three bases in four attempts… on defense, he posted 99 assists and helped turn 11 double plays… keyed the Raiders’ 13-7 win over Redlands (3/16) with a grand slam and a total of five RBI… went three for five with a home run, a double and three RBI in a 17-9 win at Whittier (3/22)… in an NJAC doubleheader against TCNJ (3/29), went five for nine with five RBI, two doubles and a home run… went three for three with a 3-run homer and scored twice in a 19-11 loss to Rowan (4/19)… slammed a 3-run homer and an RBI double in a 15-4 win over Richard Stockton (4/13).

FRESHMAN (2007): Appeared in 17 games and started four at third base… hit .240 with a home run and nine RBI… recorded his first collegiate hit and RBI with a bases-loaded double against William Paterson (4/7)… belted his first collegiate home run against John Jay (4/9).

HIGH SCHOOL: Enjoyed a stellar senior year at Dayton HS… was a Second Team All-State Group I selection…also named first team all-league and all-county as a senior and junior and third team all-county as a sophomore…outstanding infielder and pitcher…led Bulldogs to four state tournament berths… helped team to a 22-5 record, a league championship and a spot in the Union County finals in 2005… also was an all-conference performer in basketball his junior and senior years… played in the Union County All-Star Game.

PERSONAL: Son of Raul and Vivian Furnaguera… majoring in philosophy and criminal justice.
