FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action in three games as a catcher and pinch hitter… went one for two at the plate with a single in a 17-2 win over PSU-Abington (4/27)… drew a walk against Baruch (4/11).

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport standout at Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS in baseball and wrestling… in baseball, two-year letterman who helped Raiders to Union County and Watchung Conference championships, a 22-5 record, and a sectional runner-up finish as a senior... also lettered twice in wrestling.

SUMMER LEAGUE: Has played the last three summers with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood American League squad.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in business administration at Rutgers-Newark… son of Marcia and Ian McCarthy… has an older brother, Christian, and a younger one, Julian.
