Andy Awad holds the Rutgers-Newark tennis record with most wins at 125 in Singles and Doubles. He played from 1993 to 1996 and graduated in 1997 as a Criminal Justice major.

In his freshman year, he was the New Jersey Athletic Conference Champion at 4th Singles and was voted NJAC rookie of the year. In his sophomore year, he played 2nd Singles and captured the 3rd Doubles NJAC championship with Mike Miranda. In his junior year, Andy was the recipient of the NJAC Sportsmanship Award. In his senior campaign, he was the first Rutgers-Newark player to be undefeated at 1st Singles in dual meets and post season play.

He was both 1st Singles and 1st Doubles NJAC champion and voted Conference Player of the Year. He was recognized for that achievement as the Newark Star Ledgers’ Athlete of the Week.
Finally, Andrew received the Rutgers-Newark Male Athlete of the Year Award for 1996.

At the present time, he is working for AT&T Wireless as a Commission Specialist in the Accounting and Finance Department. He lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, with his wife, Samantha, who works as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch.
