Emily-Bock-Russo demonstrated leadership and
commitment throughout her Tennis Career at Rutgers-
Newark. In 1992, Emily broke the Rutgers-Newark Tennis
Record with accomplishing the feat of most wins. She
achieved 120 wins in Singles and Doubles.
Emily played tennis for Rutgers-Newark from 1989 to
1992 and had a career record of 121 wins and 39 losses. As
a freshman, the New Jersey Athletic Conference awarded
her Rookie of the Year. In 1990, Emily and her partner
Nicole McDonald placed third at the Eastern Rolex Tournament,
the largest, most prestigious tournament on the East
Coast.
In her senior year she was the 3rd singles champion at the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Her extraordinary play was the deciding factor in the team meriting the 1992 New Jersey Athletic Conference Team Championship. As an outstanding singles and doubles player, Emily was a finalist in the 2nd single flight in 1989, 1990, and 1991 and a doubles finalist in the 2nd flight in 1989 and the 1st doubles flight in 1990 and 1991 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament.
Emily, an All Conference Doubles Player in both 1990 and 1991 represented Rutgers- Newark in 1992, her senior year, as one of the top women’s college athletes of the year.
