Long before television belatedly made bowling one of those popular participant and spectator sports, Chuck Pezzano, Sr. of Clifton was one of the standouts in Intercollegiate bowling. In 1951 Chuck became the first Eastern Intercollegiate Champion and during his college career rolled a perfect 300 game and was the first collegian ever to roll an 800 series.

He was considered among the best of all college bowlers and qualified for such major events as the National All Star and World Invitational Tournaments representing Rutgers-Newark and the State of New Jersey.

Since his college days he has won many state, national and international bowling honors and is a member of two of the highest Halls of Fame in all of bowling, The Professional Bowlers Association and the American Bowling Congress.

Chuck also is a past president of the Bowling Writers Association of America and has authored or collaborated on twelve books and writes a regularly featured syndicated column in Bowling Magazine. He is recognized throughout the world for his bowling knowledge and is sought by individuals and corporations alike for his expertise. Chuck has also been a member for the ABC Hall of Fame Board and throughout his career has won nearly 30 awards in bowling writing competition in addition to having served as a judge at one time for that competition.
