Mr. Roselyn Desroches lettered and started all four of his years as a Rutgers-Newark volleyball player. In his freshman year, he made an immediate impact on the program. Due in larger part to his outstanding technical skills and overall leadership ability, he became an integral part of the team. Roselyn’s performance allowed Rutgers-Newark to break into a top 10 national ranking by beating the likes of 13-ranked Ohio State University and the number one ranked team in the country, Penn State. These wins led the team to its first ever win in the nine-year history of the nationally respected Golden Dome Classic.

During his junior year, Roselyn led the Raiders to an NCAA East Regional Championship and a trip to the 1990 NCAA Division I Final Four. He was again named to the First Team All-East Squad by the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and later, All-American by Volleyball Magazine. This four-year athlete and graduate catapulted our volleyball program and the university onto the national sports scene in the late eighties and early nineties.

He was a three-time NCAA All American, All EIVA, and USVBA All American. Roselyn is presently living in Miami, Florida, with his wife, Woodlyne, and their two sons. He is now employed as a supervisor of patient accounting with the Salick Cancer Center in Boca Raton, Florida.
