Larry McClure had a distinguished wrestling career while at Rutgers-Newark and comes to the Athletic Hall of Fame with impressive credentials. In 1963 and 1964 he was undefeated in dual meets and in 1964 was a member of the Rutgers-Newark wrestling team that won the Metropolitan Wrestling Tournament. 

Larry was the first recipient of the Cataldo Award, an award given in memory of Richard Cataldo, a wrestler whose leadership, courage, and personal qualities were best exemplified by a recipient of that award. In his first two years at Rutgers, Larry placed second in the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Wrestling Tournament and in his junior and senior years, placed third. 

Larry co-captained the wrestling team for two years and upon his graduation in 1967, he held three school records:
Most career wins – 32
Most wins in a single season – 17 and,
Most career pins – 25. 

Larry is a 1970 graduate of the Seton Hall Law School and currently serves as Prosecutor of Bergen County.
