Kosz was a member of the Scarlet Raider women's volleyball team during a stretch in which they were one of the best teams in the region, consistently competing for New Jersey Athletic Conference titles. A first-team All-NJAC performer and a transfer from NCAA Division I Saint Peter's, Kosz stepped in and made an immediate impact for Rutgers-Newark. Her head coach Bob Bertucci called her "probably the best outside hitter" in the program and she did not disappoint, leading Rutgers-Newark to the NJAC title in 1989 as the team finished 18-5 overall.
Kosz – who now lives in Manitoba, Canada – graduated from R-N in 1994 with a major in marketing.
