Three-time All-American Mercedes Glover dominated the javelin throw during her time as a Scarlet Raider. She currently holds the top five spots in the Rutgers-Newark record books with her best throw (47.68m) coming at the ECAC Outdoor Championships in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 14, 2015. In 2015, she finished as the runner-up in the javelin throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Glover was also named Rutgers-Newark Female Athlete of the Year on two occasions in 2014 and 2015. Her 2015 finish at nationals was the highest of any Scarlet Raider at the national level and netted the team eight points which placed Rutgers-Newark 32nd overall.
